The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Anthony Welch can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Jim Burns
Condolence: My deepest sympathy to the Welch family during this time. I knew Tony quite well during my time in broadcasting in Volusia County. We were competitors but always on friendly terms. At one time he even interviewed me for a job at WROD. He was a great guy.He really knew the broadcasting business and ran a good radio station.

Condolence From: Scott Fretz
Condolence: To Diane and family, I have known Tony for many years both at WROD radio, and as a member of the Executive Association of Daytona Beach. He was also a friend of my late father : Clayton Fretz. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word, and usually a joke to tell. He will be missed. My condolences to the entire family

Condolence: Tony's kindness and humor will be long remembered. He was a true gentleman. As a young radio salesperson working for a competing company in the 1980's, I recall many instances when Tony took the time to teach and share his experience. Tony's contributions to the advertising community will live on, as will our memories of his kind and gentle spirit.

Condolence From: Debbie Ryan
Condolence: Dear Diane & Family,
I am so very sorry about your lose. Its mine too. I thought the world of Tony. I had the opportunity to work with him many years when I was in radio. More recently when I worked for the Center for the Visually Impaired. He had such a quick wit, his willingness to volunteer his time was his trade mark. Oh that voice, one could never mistaken that it was Tony on the radio or television. He will be missed but never forgotten.
I know he is at peace and you will all someday be reunited. God Bless each of you.

Condolence From: Bill Wathen
Condolence: Tony will be remembered warmly by his family and friends for a long, long time. He was a giver and a caring man, always ready to help someone in need. Tony was a gentleman and a great friend to many. My heart is saddened by his passing. There's a place in heaven for Tony when God called him home. Farewell old friend you've been a wonderful friend to me.

Godspeed, Tony, you're now in a better place.

Your loving friend,

Bill (Wobbly) Wathen

Condolence From: Ron Kocher
Condolence: Always with an encouraging word, Tony was one of the best bosses I ever had an opportunity to work with in my entire 40 year radio career. Spent a delightful 7 years with him at WROD. He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Tony - We'll see you again someday...
