Friends wishing to call and pay their respects for Craig S. Batista, 74, Daytona Beach who passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2018 may do so Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Dale Woodward Chapel by the Sea, 1780 Ocean Shore Blvd Ormond Beach. Mr. Batista was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and moved to Daytona Beach in 1991. He was a licensed optician for over 55 years and currently worked for Sam’s Optical in Daytona Beach. He enjoyed his boat, fishing, playing pool, target shooting, music and the beach. He was preceded in death by his parents Aristedes (Steve) and Mary (Lep) Batista and a brother Kenneth Batista. Craig will be greatly missed by his life partner of 35 years Karen Jorgensen; three children Maggie McDonnell (Mike), Craig Batista, and Matthew Batista, all of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Gerald Anderson (Kristen), Craig Batista, Matthew Batista, Kelsey McDonnell and Christopher Batista and one great granddaughter, Grace Batista; and two sisters, Sharon DeRosha and Dorreen Kastl (Ed). In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Condolences to the family may be shared at www.dalewoodwardfuneralhomes.com.
