Obituary for Albert Peter Kondroski

Albert Peter Kondroski
A Memorial Mass for Albert Peter Kondroski, 83, who went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2018, will be celebrated Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1014 N. Halifax Ave. Daytona Beach with Rev. Father Phil Egitto as celebrant. A native of Newark, NJ, he and his departed wife moved to this area from Carteret, NJ in 1970. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Albert was a devoted husband and father who cherished his time with family. Albert was a U.S. Army veteran, whose active duty was from 1954 -1957 during the Korean War serving overseas though attached to the U.S. Army Intelligence Center, Ft. Holabird, MD. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Albert went on to serve in the Reserves until 1962 when he was honorably discharged. A man of action, Albert rarely sat still. He loved to fix things, tinker with things and showed great patience to detail work. Many would consider him a jack of all trades. He was an avid reader, enjoyed yard work and classical music, and stayed up with current events. Preceding him in death were his wife of 56 years, Katherine; a daughter and granddaughter, Alison Kondroski-Reddy and Juliana Reddy; 2 brothers, Frank and Peter; and a sister, Dolores Mailloux. Survivors include 2 daughters, Karen Hillyard (Tony) and Nancy Koenig (Steve) both of Daytona Beach; 2 grandchildren, Shane Hillyard (Nicole) and Kayli Reed (Colt); and a great grandson, Maclin and great granddaughter, Everleigh. Gifts in memory of Albert Kondroski may be made to Mayo Clinic Lymphoma Research in Honor of Dr. Tun – Mayo Clinic, Dept. of Development, 4500 San Pablo Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32224.
