Funeral service for Vera Leona North, 97, Ormond Beach, who passed away Sunday will be held Thursday December 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Holly Hill Church of Christ, 1725 Ridgewood Avenue Holly Hill with Minister Vic Pruitt along with Robert Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so Thursday from 11:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Mrs. North was born on August 27, 1920 in Bunnell, Florida and moved to Ormond Beach in 1947. She worked along with her husband at their home fernery, orange orchard and poultry farm until approximately 1984. She has been a member of Holly Hill Church of Christ since the early 1960's and was a woman of strong faith who always led her family by example. She was loved by her family dearly and her greatest joy was spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Lloyd who passed away in 1990, a sister, Inez Inabnett and a nephew, William Inabnett. Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Jane Mudge and her husband Kim; grandchildren, Tim Mudge (Luana), great grandchildren Anthony, Isabella and Jaxson,
Jennifer Kingsland (Cody), great grandchild Tristan and Robert Mudge (Lori) ; a niece, Patty Williams and many nieces and nephews on her husband's side. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Southeastern Children's Home 115 Childrens Way, Duncan, SC 29334 -or- Christian Homes for Children 12001 SW 72ND Street, Miami Florida 33283.
