Obituary for Paul B. St. Amant

Paul B. St. Amant
Paul “Paulie Roach” St. Amant, 56, formerly of Southbridge, Massachusetts, died January 31, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice Center after an illness.

He is survived by a half-brother, Tom Libuda of Rio Verde, AZ, and several cousins. He also leaves his best friends, Carl Moses, Jeff Lapierre, and Cheryl Shaw, as well as his family of very close friends.

Paul was born October 16, 1960, son of the late Belmore A. and Anna (Lapointe) St. Amant. He graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, Connecticut, then moved to Florida to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. He later owned and operated a tropical fish retail store in New Smyrna Beach, and most recently was employed by Massey Services, retiring due to illness. He enjoyed Nascar racing, cars, music (especially Kenny Chesney), college and professional sports, and was particularly loyal to New England sports teams. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends.

Family and friends would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of Halifax Health Hospice Center for the kind, compassionate care they provided to Paul during his stay.

Paul was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Ormond Beach. A service will be held Thursday, February 9 at 2:00 pm at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 1780 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach FL with Father Tom Barrett officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
