Billy J. Ligon, 82, of Ormond Beach went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2018. He was born in Milan, TN on August 17, 1936 to Paul and Maurine Ligon. Billy was a gradate of Treadwell High School class of 1954. He went to Memphis State University before enlisting in the U.S. Marines with his buddies and honorably served for 4 1/2 years. He was a Home Builder running the family business in Memphis, TN. After retiring and moving to Ormond Beach, he opened a TCBY Yogurt franchise. Billy was a long time member of First Baptist Church Daytona and the Gideons International. He liked to travel, read and fish. He also liked the beach and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sara, daughter Sandy (Randy) Pepper, son Steve (Vickie) Smith, sister Anne (A. L.) Black, grandchildren Rondi, Stephanie, Hannah, Leah, Sarah, one great granddaughter, two nephews and many cherished family and friends. The family would like to thank Halifax Health Hospice-Port Orange and Good Samaritan Society-Daytona for the care and support they have given to him and the family. Funeral Services will be held at Dale Woodward Funeral Homes 167 Ridgewood Ave. Holly Hill, FL, Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at 12:30 pm. with Harry Watt officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the service. Interment with Military honors will follow at 2:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, FL.
