A graveside service for Carol Johnson Byers, 79, of Daytona Beach, FL, will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00am at Maplewood Cemetery, 316 Maplewood Drive, Tazewell, VA 24651. Calling hours will be held the evening prior on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Peery and St. Clair Funeral Home, 111 Ben Bolt Ave., Tazewell, VA 24651. She was part of the Tazewell High class of 1957. She loved spending time with family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She retired from the Volusia County school system in Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Johnson and her sisters, Loretta Sills and Terri Mitchell. Survivors include her loving husband, David Roger Byers, and her two sons, Bryan Byers and Blake (Ashley) Byers, three grandchildren, Hunter, Kennedy, and Lincoln, her sister Linda Johnson Mumm, her brother, Charles Johnson, Jr., her niece, Gini Carol Reimes.
