Obituary for Frank M "Buster" Crane Jr.

A memorial celebration for Frank “Buster” Crane, 79, of South Daytona, who passed away Oct. 29, 2018 at Halifax Medical Center, will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange with Dr. Austin Brinkerhoff and Pastor Calvin Gittner officiating. A Daytona Beach native, Buster was a 1957 graduate of Mainland High School. He was a kicker for the Buccaneer Football team and Captain/ catcher for the baseball team. Buster was also a leader in the Demolay Society. Throughout Buster’s life, he stayed active with local baseball organizations as well as the Boy Scouts. He served as Scout Master of troop #448 and later became Halifax District Commissioner. For many years he worked as an estimator for Giles Electric and for most of his life was a loyal member of IBEW Local 756. Buster was very devoted to his career and had a tremendous work ethic. Very involved with his church, First Presbyterian, Buster has been both an elder and a deacon. Buster had a passion and a talent for building race cars. He enjoyed camping, fishing and RVing---Nothing filled his heart like loading the RV with family and grand kids. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations be made to Christ United Fellowship, 1520 Voorhis Ave. Deland, FL 32724. Survivors include his loving wife of over 60 years, Lorraine; 3 daughters, Robin Vancini (Larry), Port Orange, Angie Divens (Brian), Halifax, PA and Debbie Moffat (Jay), Charlotte, NC; a son, Gene Crane (Donna), Oviedo, FL; and 7 grandchildren.
