Richard Alan Cox, 73, of Daytona Beach, FL (formerly of Winfield, WV) passed away on August 31, 2018 at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, FL after a long illness. He is retired project superintendent for Orders Construction Company of St. Albans, WV. He lived life to the fullest, enjoyed cars, motorcycles, fishing and golf. One of his great pleasures was singing in the church choir. Also, he was the first Eagle Scout from Troop 109 of Craigsville, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corley and Manoka Woods Cox of Craigsville, WV. Richard survived by his wife, Donna Cox, of Daytona Beach, FL, stepdaughter, Michelle (David) Lilly of Kirkwood, MO and stepson Col. Jason (Leslie) Kerr of McLean, VA, grandchildren, Christopher and Nathan Lilly, Seth, Laurel and Owen Kerr. We would like to give special thanks to Elmer and Jeannie Young, Ruby Hayes Gil and Judy Cockcroft, along with the staff of Halifax Hospice for all they have done during this time. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Winfield Presbyterian Church at 1:00pm with Reverend David Bush officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Putnam County Humane Society in West Virginia or Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach, FL.
