We had the good fortune of moving next door to the Dodd family way back in 1964 on Crescent Pl. in Middletown,NY.In order to honor Patti and Boss Dodd(he will allways be Boss to me) I would like to share some memories. In no particular order-our whiffle ball games between the houses in the summers, playing kick-ball in the street, many hide and seek battles thru the neighborhood.Remember our "army " meetings in the attic above the garage(Sharon was my sergeant),we might have been a little tough on Kenna ,Sue and Vickie.Remember how excited we were to view the tapes of all of us that Boss and Patti had kept for us.What a treasure that was.How many times did we make the short-cut thru the back yard of the house on Walkill Ave to get to the Dodds and home(I swear I can probably re-trace each and every step to this day).I came across a picture of us kids being hosed down in our drive-way not so long ago,(only 50 + years).I can remember watching a Twilight Zone episode at the Dodds that involved a monster on the wing of an airplane that scared the heck out of me.Remember when the garbage man said he saw someone on our roof in the early morning and Boss led us up the stairs to our attic to see if we had a burgular or worse(turns out it was Marty having an early morning smoke). How many times did Patti make apple crisp for my birthday.Who can ever forget Pattis laugh-I will allways remember with much joy and love. How proud I was to have a picture of Boss and me in my Air Force uniform after coming home from boot camp(I have it on my dresser still).Remembering when Patti came back to visit after Mom had her stroke and I was visiting also and it just seemed like old times sitting around the table reminiscing and hearing mom and Patti laughing. We started out as neighbors back in 1964 and now 54 years later speaking on behalf of Ken,Sally,Marty,Linda,Ricky,Gerry,Kelley,Kenna, and Sue that Boss,Patti,Sharon and Vicki will allways be remembered as part of our family.
