Obituary for Wesley Dean Beck

Wesley Dean Beck
Wesley “Dean” Beck, 66, died August 20, 2017, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A Barberville native, Dean was a graduate of Taylor Middle High School in Pierson, FL. He was the proud owner/operator of Flamingo Florist which had been voted “best florist” in the Reader’s Choice Awards for over a decade. Those who knew Dean often referred to him as one of the most generous, hard working and funniest people they had ever known. He loved Florida, gardening, and “Sweet Jesus”, he could grow orchids like no other! Nothing filled his heart more than spending time with family and his grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Thelma Clifton Beck and a brother, Austin “Ray” Beck. Survivors include 2 daughters, Shannon Beck Stringfellow (Wally), Oneonta, NY and Melanie Fuller (Jimmer), Bainbridge, NY; 2 grandchildren, Kaia Fuller and Sebastian Beck; a sister, Marjorie “Marie” Drawdy; a niece, Sandy Holcomb (George), and his cat, Whitesocks. At Dean’s request, a celebration of his life will be held at his home on August 26, 2017 and he also requested donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
