Obituary for Elizabeth Ann DeLanoy

Elizabeth Ann DeLanoy
Elizabeth (Betty) Ann DeLanoy joined her Lord Jesus in celebration of Holy Week on April 12, 2017, at Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, FL. Betty was surrounded by her family as she peacefully went home.
Betty was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, on April 4, 1925, to parents Thomas D. and Violet Wilhelm. She was the 4th of 5 children and the last of her siblings to go home to the Lord: brothers William, Thomas, and John (Jackie), and her sister Ida Linden. Betty moved to FL in 1962 with husband John (Jack) and children settling in Holly Hill. Betty also spent a portion of her retirement living in Maggie Valley, NC, but returned to the area about 10 years ago to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Betty was first and foremost a homemaker, but she also had several careers which included owning diners, working in doctors’ offices, and finally retiring from GE in 1988. In her younger years she was very involved with the youth group at her church and sang in the choir. Betty was very outspoken concerning her faith in Jesus, Betty loved to travel, go the Beach, visit Epcot, and daydream of her childhood spent in Wildwood, NJ, at the bungalow with her grandparents.
Betty (Mom, Nana, Great Nana) will be missed by her children Carol Jackson(Rick), John DeLanoy III, Laurie DeLanoy, Jeff DeLanoy (Sherry), and Scott DeLanoy (Kathy), and her grandchildren Jason Jackson (Charity), Jennifer Fisher (Kurt), Etta DeLanoy, Sarah Daffin (Shawn), Jeffery DeLanoy ( Vanessa), Jesse DeLanoy, Jacob DeLanoy, Michelle DeLanoy, Julie McKeown (Josh), Eric DeLanoy (Leah), Matthew DeLanoy, along with 15 great grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Services will be held at UBIC Church, 560 Flomich St, Holly Hill, FL 32117, on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 3pm.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Halifax Heath Hospice, Ormond Beach: 235 Booth Rd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
